MAAFS State Judging School – April 24, 2010, Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium
Attached is the registration form for the April 24, 2010 MAAFS Judging School. You should select your lst, 2nd and 3rd choice of classes for each of the three time periods.
Class size is limited to a maximum of 25 people and it will be filled as registrations are received. When a class is filled, you will be placed in your 2nd choice for that time period. A listing of classes you are registered to take will be sent to you approximately 2 weeks prior to April 24. If you do not receive it, please call me to be sure I received your registration.
Note that the Extracted Honey class is not intended to make you a certified honey judge as the State has a 2 year program to certify honey judges. This is just a periphery view so that if you do get one or two jars of extracted honey, you will have enough basic skills to judge it competently.
Those who have completed 3 judging schools in the following topics will have the opportunity to take part in NOVICE judging classes in the following subjects: Baked Goods, Booths/Banners, Candy, Crafts, Clothing, Needle Arts, Vegetables. These classes will be offered at 2:15 pm and you can take as many as you can judge in the time period.
Cost again will be $20 and checks should be made payable to: MAAFS
and mailed with your registration form to: Richard R. Angus, 4907 Muskogee Street, College Park, Md. 20740
Schedule will be: 8:30 – 9 am – registration; 9 – 9:10 – orientation; lst class 9:15-10:30 am; 2nd class 10:45 – 12noon; lunch 12-12:40; 3rd class 12:45 – 2 pm. Novice Classes 2:15 – 4 pm.
I will be away from Feb. 14-28 so do not sent any registrations before March 1.
